Us
The German-American
Association is a Germany-based association of people who are interested
in supporting the German-American relations. We do so in cultural exchanges,
discussions and events.
Currently,
the association has got a many as 300 members from Germany and the United
States as well as from some other countries. Our members come from all
of society: Politicians, scientists, employees and soldiers. This member
structure is reflected in the selection of the board
members of the German-American Association.
Our name
and our logo
The official
English name of our society is "German-American Association".
In German, the name is "Deutsch-Amerikanische Gesellschaft".
Until 1999 the name was "Gesellschaft zur Förderung
der Deutsch-Amerikanischen Freundschaft" -
"Association for the Promotion of German-American
Friendship". Due to this, you sometimes will read of "GFDAF"
or "APGAF".
Our logo was
developed in 1999. It symbolizes both the banner of Germany as of the
United States integrating each other.
